India’s recalled High Commissioner, Sanjay Verma, revealed on Thursday how Khalistani terrorists in Canada target and recruit Indian students. In an interview with NDTV, Verma explained that these extremists lure students by offering money and food, exploiting the lack of jobs in Canada. He warned parents to stay vigilant and regularly communicate with their children abroad to guide them away from such negative influences.

Verma urged Indian students in Canada to be cautious and resist radicalization attempts. He emphasized that Khalistani terrorists often manipulate vulnerable students by enticing them with false promises of stability. These students are then convinced to participate in protests outside Indian diplomatic buildings, where they shout anti-India slogans and insult the Indian flag. Terrorists use these activities to create a narrative that the students would face punishment if they return to India, which is then used as a basis for asylum claims.

Verma pointed out that there have been cases of such students being granted asylum after participating in these protests. He stressed the importance of parental involvement, urging parents to talk to their children regularly and understand their situations. He highlighted the growing threat of radicalization, stating that various negative forces in Canada are pushing students in the wrong direction.

Verma’s warning comes amid tense relations between India and Canada. Recently, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused Indian agents of conspiring with criminal gangs, further straining diplomatic ties. Earlier this month, India strongly rejected a Canadian diplomatic communication linking Indian diplomats, including Verma, to the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Canadian citizen designated as a terrorist by India. Verma called these allegations “preposterous” and part of Trudeau’s political agenda.

At this crucial time, Verma’s message to Indian parents is clear: stay informed and proactive in guiding your children to avoid dangerous influences abroad.
