Indian Army Jawans track 6 km deep snow to rescue newborn-mother duo
Jammu, January 23(HS): To extend helping hand to needy, Indian Army jawans tracked 6 km in knee deep snow and rescued a newborn baby and mother to reach home in remote Lolab area of Kupwara. Reports said received a distress call from Farooq Khasana R/O Dardpura Lolab and sprang into action. Due to heavy snowfall all roads were in non trafficable condition and newborn and mother trapped in snow blizzard. Jawans of 28 Rashtria Rifles carried mother and newborn for almost 6 kilometer in knee deep snow and safely rescued them to their house in remotest area of Lolab despite heavy snow blizzard. Reports said the unit once again reached out to the needy of AOR thus establishing their faith in army. This act of kindness well appreciated by civil population and health authorities. Father of new born appreciated Army for prompt response and saving his family. He said that the last resort of dardpura villagers, Markul camp never failed them.
