Lucknow, 25 February (HS) :   Taking pride in successful COVID-19 management in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that soon India will roll out two new coronavirus vaccines in addition to the existing one.

The CM further showed immense appreciation to all the scientists and researchers in his speech for their untiring efforts and quick innovation of the corona vaccine which emerged as a ‘fitting tribute’ to the corona warriors.

UP CM while addressing the State Legislative Council, on Thursday, also remembered the people who lost their lives because of the Pandemic and paid tributes to them.

Miffed over opposition for perpetrating negative politics, CM Yogi, during his speech on motion of thanks to the Governor’s address said, “The same country was there before but every citizen is himself a witness to the country’s progress now that how visionary leadership can transform the image of the country.”

Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that the Centre has given its full cooperation to the state government. Under his leadership, India managed to make two indigenous vaccines that are giving the best results.

Yogi further threw light on the fact that there are about 2000 active corona cases in the state and that the state has been able to keep the positivity rate below 5 percent throughout the pandemic with the highest recovery rate.

CM Yogi also acknowledged the cooperation and support of all the fearless bus drivers and transport agencies which helped the government in bringing back thousands of stranded students at Kota amidst the pandemic and the lockdown when the Rajasthan Government refused to extend any support.

Yogi further added that India’s vaccine production and delivery capacity will be used to fight the coronavirus infection globally. Under the guidance of PM Modi, India is supplying COVID-19 vaccines to neighbouring countries including Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Bangladesh, etc.

UP CM said that initially during the lockdown, PPE kits used to come for Rs 5,000 -15,000. But when we set up around 200 units to manufacture PPE kits, we started getting them for Rs 200-500 because of more demand.

He said that Uttar Pradesh also proved its mettle of carrying out a maximum number of tests and over two lakh samples a day. The state progressively tightened the restrictions to suppress the spread in the early phases and improved the health and medical facilities in the state by simultaneously setting up labs. Earlier in March 2020, there were no labs in the state, and by the end of the year, the Yogi Government successfully succeeded in establishing over 200 labs.

CM Yogi quoted the lines from the poem of Atal Vihari Bajpayee, ‘Admi Na Ucha Hota Hai, Na Neecha Hota Hai, Na Chota Hota Hai, Na Bada Hota Hai, Admi To Admi Hota Hai’. Repeating the lines, he said that his government is working on the ideology of the former Prime Minister and comforted the vulnerable migrants by hiring 1660 trains to bring them back from various places.
