Ind vs NZ : India 122\5 at stumps , rain forces early stumps on Day 1.
New Delhi, Feb 21 (HS): With exception of Ajinkya Rahane and Mayank Aggarwal, Indian batsmen struggled to find their way, as they scored 122 for 5 on Day 1 in the first test match against New Zealand in Wellington.Thunderstorm and steady rains in between tea break washed out the final session. The Umpires decided to end the day’s play after an inspection.
With wickets tumbling at the other end, Rahane has been looking strong on the green pitch. The other batsman who played the swinging deliveries well was the opener Mayank Aggarwal. But he got out on a short pitch ball to Tim Southee on 34 soon after Lunch break.
For New Zealand, Debutant Kyle Jamieson was pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets for 38 runs. While Southee and Boult got One wicket each.
Earlier, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and decided to bowl.
