On Day 3 of the 2nd Test in Pune, Ravindra Jadeja led India’s bowling attack, wrapping up New Zealand’s innings in just under an hour. India managed to claim the remaining five wickets, bowling New Zealand out for 255 and setting a chase of 359 runs to level the series.

On Day 2, India began their innings with high hopes, as openers Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal looked to establish a solid foundation. However, both youngsters fell early, with Gill dismissed for 30 by Glenn Phillips and Jaiswal following for the same score to Mitchell Santner. Santner continued to dominate, exposing India’s struggle against spin.

India’s middle and lower order crumbled under Santner’s skillful bowling. Virat Kohli managed only a single run before falling to Santner. Sarfaraz Khan (11), Jadeja (38), Ravichandran Ashwin (4), Akash Deep (6), and Jasprit Bumrah (0) all followed suit as Santner claimed seven wickets for just 53 runs.

India now faces a tough challenge to reach the 359-run target, with the pitch increasingly favoring spinners.
