New Delhi, Dec 14 (HS): Speaking on the rising crime against women and children across the country, Justice DY Chandrachud has said that crimes against children are increasing continuously. Speaking during the National Juvenile Justice Counseling in Delhi, Justice DY Chandrachud said that in 2014 There were 89,423 cases of crime against children, which increased to 1.29 lakhs in the year 2017.
Presenting another shocking figure, Justice Chandrachud said that the number of cases of juveniles carried out across the country is also high. He reported that the number of criminal cases filed by juveniles in 2017 is 33000, which is 0.67% of all crimes in India.
He said that cases of involvement of minors in overall crimes have also increased rapidly. According to the data, in 2017, a total of 33 thousand crimes were committed by minors in India, which is 0.67 percent of the total recorded crimes.
