Incoming travelers from abroad to be kept in paid institutional quarantine.
SAS Nagar(Punjab),11 May(HS): Keeping in view the commencement of inflow of Punjabis stuck abroad, Girish Dayalan Deputy Commissioner, SAS Nagar informed that all incoming travellers from foreign countries who were stuck abroad due to lockdown and are expected to return to the district in the coming days, would be extended paid Institutional Quarantine facility.
He said that this has been decided in accordance with MHA guidelines and informed that each passenger before boarding has filled up an undertaking to abide by the same.
In line with this, the District Administration has identified different category of hotels and option would be open to the foreign inbound traveller to check into his/her choice of hotel which has been shortlisted as an Institutional Quarantine facility.
Pertinently, two flights with native passengers returning from foreign shores are expected in the district in a couple of days.
Detailing the arrangements made for people of Mohali coming back to the district after having been stuck up in different parts of the country, DM said that all such travellers will be de-boarded from their buses at a common central location, which as of now has been identified as Palm Banquets, Zirakpur. Thereafter, they will be sent back to their respective homes, where they will stay strictly home quarantined, under surveillance. However, the high-risk travellers, if any will be put in government quarantine facility, said he.
