In view of fog, CM instructs officials to ensure strict compliance of road safety rules

Lucknow, 17 January (HS) :   Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officials to ensure strict compliance of road safety rules in view of fog during the ongoing inclement weather in the winters.

He has also instructed all the District Magistrates and Senior Superintendents of Police or Superintendents of Police to ensure all necessary arrangements for the safe movement of vehicles in accident-prone areas in their respective districts.

The Chief Minister was reviewing the works of various departments at a review meeting at his official residence on Sunday. He also instructed to increase the number of common service centres in the state.

He said that with this, government services will be easily accessible to citizens near their place of residence and their time and money will also be saved. Once the new Common Service Centre starts operating, a large number of employment opportunities will be available from urban, semi-urban areas to remote gram panchayats of the state.

Chief Minister said that sugarcane is an important cash crop of our state and that currently sugarcane is being cultivated by over 45 lakh sugarcane farmers. Sugarcane production has increased due to the continuous efforts of the state government, he pointed out while directing concerned officials to ensure high-yielding crops are provided to sugarcane farmers for sowing.

The CM instructed to take swift action for the construction of Uttar Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority building. This will help the authority to conduct its functions better. He said that the areas affected by various disasters should be identified by the Authority.

Residents of identified areas should be made aware of the precautions to be taken at the time of disaster and people should be trained regarding disaster prevention measures, he added.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Mr. RK Tiwari, Agriculture Production Commissioner Mr. Alok Sinha, Additional Chief Secretary Home Mr. Avanish Kumar Awasthi, Director General of Police Mr. Hitesh C. Awasthi, Additional Chief Secretary MSME and Information Mr. Navneet Sehgal, Additional Chief Secretary Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Industrial Development Mr. Alok Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary Agriculture Mr. Devesh Chaturvedi and other senior officers.
