IIT Delhi’s MBA program: Impressive placement records and high NIRF ranking
IIT Delhi is known for its excellence in engineering, but it has also made a mark in management education. Ranked as the fourth-best management institution in India by the government, IIT Delhi offers an impressive MBA program with strong placement records.
In the past three years, IIT Delhi has maintained a 100% placement rate for its MBA graduates. In 2020-21, 124 students graduated with a median salary of ₹16.2 lakh. This figure rose to ₹20.06 lakh in 2021-22, with 112 students placed. In 2022-23, 124 graduates again secured placements, and the median salary reached ₹24.45 lakh.
The highest salary for the 2021-23 batch was ₹41.13 lakh. The IT & Analytics sector emerged as the top recruiter, with 24.5% of the batch receiving offers for roles in data analytics, IT leadership, and business analysis. Major recruiters included Accenture, Capgemini, and Paytm.
Sales & Marketing was the second most popular sector, with 22.1% of students securing roles such as product managers and marketing analysts. Companies like Texas Instruments, ICICI Bank, and Tata Consumer Products were among the recruiters.
Strategy & Consulting also attracted 17.2% of the batch, with students receiving offers from firms like McKinsey, Bain & Company, and Deloitte.
Finance saw 14% of students placed with top firms such as Barclays and BlackRock in roles like wealth management and finance associate.
Supply Chain and Operations, along with General Management and HR, also recruited a significant portion of graduates, with firms like Amazon, Adani Group, and JSPL offering roles.
IIT Delhi’s high NIRF ranking of 76.25 reflects its strong performance in areas such as Research and Professional Practice (RP), where it leads among the top five management institutes.
