ICC and BCCI wishes happy birthday to the Little Master
New Delhi, July 10 (HS) Former captain and veteran batsman Sunil Gavaskar is celebrating his 71st birthday today. On this occasion, the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also wishes him on his birthday.
The ICC tweeted wishing Gavaskar, “The first batsman to score 10,000 Test runs. The first batsman to score a century in both innings of Test cricket three times. Holding the record for most centuries in Test cricket till 2005. The first Indian fielder to take 100 catches. Happy birthday to legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar.”
At the same time, BCCI also wished Gavaskar a happy birthday. BCCI wrote, “World Cup winner. First batsman to score 10,000 runs in Test cricket. Highest run-774 in debut test series. Happy birthday to former India captain and great batsman Sunil Gavaskar.”
Gavaskar, known globally as Little Master, is considered one of the best openers in world cricket. He has scored 10,122 runs in 125 Tests for India, including 34 centuries. At the same time, he has also played 108 ODIs for the Indian team, in which he has scored a total of 3,092 runs with his bat.
