Human chain formed to spread awareness on environment
New Delhi, Jan 19 (HS): In an attempt to create awareness among the people about the importance of water, life and environment, a human chain was formed under the leadership of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
More than 4.5 crore people participated in this human chain to spread awareness among the masses.
This World’s first ever longest human chain had the participation of Rajya Sabha MP and Chairman of Hindusthan Samachar R.K. Sinha .
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar along with senior politicians, ministers and bureaucrats on Sunday morning participated in the Human Chain here in Gandhi Maidan. The people across the state made a record breaking human chain by holding each other’s hand.
Dy. CM Sushil Kumar Modi, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Vijay Chaudhary also formed the chain.
On the occasion, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that the people participation has conveyed the world that protection of environment is a must.
While thanking the Bihar people for making record breaking human chain, Nitish Kumar said that the drastic changes in environment portend to dangerous signs.
As an initiative, he also propose to plant eight crore saplings to deal with this environmental degradation.
On this occasion. BJP MP R K Sinha participated in human chain organised at Ramna Maidan in Ara city of Bhojpur.
Speaking on the occasion, Sinha said that the human chain organised by the state government was an initiative to create awareness among the people of the country as well as the world to preserve and protect environment said Mr Sinha.
Starting from the Gandhi Maidan, this unique 16 thousand kilometer human chain covered streets, town, rivers, bridges, culvert and river banks of Bihar state. This included students of schools and colleges, private and government officials, businessmen and entrepreneur of the state. Besides, the people from the villages including women, old people and children all participated in the grand human chain.
Sinha said that he was happy that spontaneous participation of so many indicates how much the people of Bihar care and willing to cooperate in government initiatives about environment and water related issues.
The people of Bihar have set a marvelous example before the world,” Sinha added.
It is noteworthy that earlier in 2017-18, such human chain was was formed to spread awareness against social evils like dowry system and cruelty on women.
