Hina Bhat reviews establishment of Clusters under SFURTI
Jammu, July 26 (HS): Vice Chairperson J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat today convened a meeting to review the performance of Clusters to be established in Jammu Division under Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI).
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Executive officer J&K KVIB, Tilak Raj Sharma, District Officers of Jammu Division, representatives of Implementing and Technical agencies besides other senior officers of concerned departments.
The Vice Chairperson informed that four clusters including Masterjee Bee-Keeping in Samba, Kailashkund Sudh Mahadev Bee-Keeping in Doda and Banihal Bee-Keeping in Ramban have been approved by the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSEME) out of six proposed clusters by J&K KVIB from Jammu division involving an amount of Rs. 653.08 lakh.
She said that establishment of six proposed Clusters will empower the farmers, artisans and other stake holders by way of providing them all the facilities under one roof which shall in turn boost the products and also improve the economic condition of the artisans.
She informed that the recently inaugurated Common Facility Centre of Sukhnag Sozni Embroidery Cluster Heritage at Budgam is receiving tremendous response and benefitting a large chunk of artisans of the area.
While reviewing the performance under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), it was informed that till date 91 cases have been sanctioned in Jammu division by KVIB involving margin money amounting Rs.195.80 lakh. She said that these entrepreneurs shall further provide employment to more than 600 persons.
Vice Chairperson expressed happiness over the recognition of Jammu and Kashmir as number one state in implementation of PMEGP, a flagship scheme of Ministry of MSME envisaging employment generation in urban and rural India through setting up of micro enterprises.
