High alert in UP , Internet closed in 21 districts of the state.

Lucknow, Dec 27 (HS):  The Yogi Adityanath government has decided to intensify security in the state today to ensure peace ahead of the Friday prayers, keeping in mind the widespread violence that hit the state last week during protests against the amended citizenship law.

As a precautionary measure, internet services, that were resumed after nearly the week were suspended again in Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, and Shamli.

Paramilitary force personnel and state police force have been deployed, and drone cameras are being used to ensure security on Friday, Gorakhpur District Magistrate Vijyendra Pandiyan said.

The police the administration is on alert in many sensitive districts of UP after violence erupted over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). No misleading message should be viral on social media, so the administration has stopped internet service in 15 cities of UP.

Internet services in UP capital Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Aligarh, Saharanpur, Bulandshahr, Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Sambhal, Firozabad, Mathura Agra, Kanpur, and Sitapur have been closed. Internet ban has been ordered in Meerut and Aligarh from 10 pm on Thursday night. In the sensitive Muzaffarnagar district of West UP, the internet has been closed till 28 December.

So far, 498 people have been identified in Uttar Pradesh, who are accused of damaging public property. All these have been issued notices by the UP administration.

MS Randhawa, PRO, Delhi Police said,  Delhi Police is ready to deal with any situation. As a precautionary measure, police have deployed several company forces in some areas.  Police is also monitoring social networking sites to check rumors.

Delhi Police PRO MS Randhawa says that the police is fully prepared in view of the prayers offered. Special forces have been deployed in some areas. The police is also keeping an eye on social media.

OP Singh, UP DGP said We are not touching innocents and we will not spare people who were involved in it (violence). And that is the reason we have arrested active members of many organizations, whether it is PFI or any other political parties.

UP Police DGP OP Singh has said that the law and order is fully under control in the state, we are constantly monitoring every situation. So far, the internet has been closed in 21 districts. He said that we are not catching any innocent, but the person involved in the violence will not be left out.
