Heavy rains to lash parts of West Bengal in next 48 hrs
Kolkata, June 27 (HS) Heavy rains will continue to lash a few districts of West Bengal for the next 48 hours, the Meteorological Department in Alipur predicted on Friday. Ferrocious wind and heavy rainfall will continue till Sunday in parts of Bengal like Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura, Jalpaiguri, Siliguri, Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, Murshidabad and Birbhum.
The highest rainfall for the last 2 days has been recorded in North Bengal only. The department says that despite the continuous rains, the temperature may rise. The department also issued a warning prohibiting the entry of fishermen into the sea. People have also been advised to remain in their homes because there is a possibility of thunderstorm too. In view of the death of 90 people in Bihar due to thunderbolt, the state government is also cautious and a directory has been issued.
