Hardik Pandya steps into IPL 2025 aiming for redemption with Mumbai Indians after a tough 2024 season. MI fans fiercely opposed his captaincy appointment over Rohit Sharma, and their team collapsed under pressure, finishing last with just four wins.

Hardik faced relentless boos at Wankhede, reflecting the fan backlash. However, his fortunes shifted after leading India to T20 World Cup glory. He further cemented his comeback with standout performances in the Champions Trophy.

Now, Hardik wants MI fans to rally behind him. In a pre-season press conference, he sent a clear message:
“Cheer for me when I bat, cheer when I hit a six, cheer when I go for the toss. I want Wankhede to be filled with our color.”

Reflecting on his turbulent year, Hardik called it “difficult but entertaining.” He remained confident in his ability to bounce back.

Mumbai Indians face a tough IPL 2025 opener against arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings on March 23. Both teams had a forgettable 2024 and now seek redemption.
