Gurugram: 7 arrested in ₹87 crore cyber fraud bust

Gurugram cyber police arrested seven cyber fraudsters over two months for duping people of over ₹87 crores. Officials confirmed the arrests on Wednesday.
Police seized ₹7.60 lakh in cash, seven mobile phones, and three SIM cards from them. The accused engaged in cyber crimes like cyberbullying, stalking, impersonation, and fraudulent investment schemes.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Cyber) Priyanshu Dewan revealed that authorities had received 10,956 complaints and registered 399 cases against them nationwide. Haryana recorded 22 cases, with six in Gurugram alone.
The arrested individuals include Sonu Kumar, Ishwar, Sunil Kumar, Pawan Kumar Sharma, Neeraj, Salim, and Priya Mishra.
Police traced their fraud through the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C). Data analysis confirmed that the gang had siphoned ₹87.06 crores from victims across India. Investigations continue.
