Gudiya gang rape:Judgement after seven years, 2 accused convicted
New Delhi ,Jan 18 (HS): The Karkardooma court has convicted two accused, Manoj Kumar and Pradeep, in connection with a 2013 kidnapping and rape case of a 5-year-old girl in Gandhi Nagar. The court will announce on the quantum of sentence on January 30. The court has convicted him in the case of posco, kidnapping, gang rape and erasing evidence.
The convicts raped a 5-year-old girl by holding them hostage for more than 24 hours.
This incident grabbed headlines when the 5-year-old Gudiya was abducted and gang-raped by 2 people on 15 April 2013, 4 months after the Nirbhaya case. A candle and glass vial had recovered from her body. She was saved somehow after several surgeries. In this case, two accused were arrested from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Both Manoj Shah and Pradeep, who were convicted, who were her neighbors.
