Govt run schools to get new furniture & other amenities

PRAYAGRAJ, April 10 (HS): In the new academic the session, children enrolled in state-run schools will use new chairs, benches, and additional classrooms, among other amenities. Roof rainwater collection systems and incinerators will be installed in government schools.

Vijay Kiran Anand, the director-general of the school education has directed all district basic Shiksha Adhikari’s to compile a list of schools that have main electricity but no inner wiring, those that do not have main electricity but are internally wired, and those that have neither main electricity nor inner wiring.

This year, districts with an English-medium primary and upper primary school on the same campus would be converted into model schools. Submersible pipes can also be used by the government to ensure the supply of drinking water. The department has requested a list of dilapidated schools that need to be upgraded or demolished, as it did last year. Solar RO plants will be installed in10 schools each in 10 districts – Agra, Etah, Mathura, Bahraich, Shravasti, Lakhimpur Kheri, Siddharthanagar, Gorakhpur, Unnao, and Hardoi. Schools where student enrolment is more than 100 will be selected for the solar RO plant.
