Kathmandu, 08 July (HS): Due to the continuous rains in Kathmandu, Flood Forecasting Section of Hydrology and Meteorology Department has issued flood warnings. This warning has been prominently reported in Kathmandu, especially in the main river valleys and its tributaries. It has been predicted to rain for the next two days.
Meteorology Department said that the water in the Bagmati river is likely to increase. The level of water has increased by alert level. The four main rivers in Kathmandu are likely to be above the danger mark of water in Bagmati. Due to the garbage collected in the river, floods can occur.
Meteorologist Binod Parajuli told that people in the city areas such as Kathmandu need to stay on high alert because the flow of water can turn into flood due to the waste put in rivers. It is notable that in Kathmandu, 72 mm rains have been recorded in the last 24 hours and it is likely to rain like this for next 48 hours.
