Government decision likely on “One nation ,One Pay Day”
New Delhi, Nov 16 (HS): The Government of India is now preparing to take big decisions regarding the protection of the interests of the workers. The central government is considering implementing ‘One Nation, One Pay Day’. This has been informed by Labor Minister Santosh Gangwar. He said that a similar system should be implemented in the country regarding salary. So, employees and laborers working in every sector shall be covered on One Nation, One Pay Day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself is keen to implement and bringing laws related .
Work on Uniform Minimum Wage Program continues- Santosh Gangwar said that the government is working towards implementing the Uniform Minimum Wage Program, which can improve the lives of laborers. He said that the government is working towards implementing occupational safety, health and working condition code (OSH), code on wages.
The Code on wages has already been approved by Parliament and now its rules are being worked out. The government worked towards simplifying 44 complex labor laws. We are negotiating with all the parties involved in this matter by making more effective and useful laws. Health and Working Condition Code (OSH) was introduced in the Lok Sabha on 23 July 2019. This code is being prepared by combining 13 labor laws. Apart from this, many more provisions have also been added to it. For example, provisions like appointment letters, annual free medical checkups for every employee have been added to this code.
