Godavari water should be brought into use: KCR
Hyderabad (Telangana), June 6(HS): About 85 gates were fixed and rubber sealing was embossed for about 26. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao wanted to complete the work of rubber sealing of the other 59 gates in a week or ten days. The CM said that Godavari water should be brought into use in June month itself. He wanted after works on Medigadda are completed, store water coming from Prana Hita.
The CM has instructed the officials to complete works on the pump houses for the reverse pumping of water from Medigadda to Annaram barrage through Kannepally pump house. However, works of Annaram and Sundilla Barrage are completed. Works on 13.5 kms long Canal with 3 TMC carrying capacity from Kannepally pump house to Annaram are also completed.
Chief Minister wanted water from Kaleswaram should reach SRSP Flood Flow Canal through Nandimedaram pumps. He wanted water to be lifted till Yellampally and should be diverted through Nandimedaram pumps. Under the SRSP flow canal Mid Maner Dam should also be filled up and from there water can be supplied till Mallanna Sagar. The CM also wanted completion of the Rajeswarraopet Pump house and Mupkal Pump house. He wanted all the tanks in Telangana to be filled with water. The CM instructed the official to get ready to lift 150 TMC water after completing works on three Barrages and five pump houses. The CM wanted that from Kaleswaram to Kodad, farm land should be supplied with the Godavari water.
He urged the officials, engineers and work agencies to work with dedication and coordination in bringing in Kaleswaram water to use in this season only. He said if one works with commitment anything will be possible. He advised the officials to go for many trial runs and attend to the teething problems arising out of them.
The CM also told them about the precautionary technical steps to be taken when flood hit due to rains. He wanted the officials to have latest communication system so that all the concerned will be cmmuniczted effectively. He also advised the irrigation officials to construct permanent buildings for the department as the project should be monitored, regularly.
