On February 28, Zelensky met Trump and Vice President JD Vance at the White House. During the meeting, Zelensky challenged Vance on Russia and diplomacy. Trump responded to Zelensky’s remarks on Truth Social, criticizing his stance on the war. He claimed Zelensky was unwilling to pursue peace as long as he had US and European support. Trump also pointed out that European leaders admitted they couldn’t assist Ukraine without the US.
US Halts Military Aid
A senior defense official told Bloomberg that the US has paused all military aid to Ukraine. The freeze affects all weapons not yet in Ukraine, including shipments in transit. The move signals a shift in US policy, putting pressure on Ukraine to commit to peace talks.
