From independence to 2017, there were only 12 government medical colleges: Yogi Adityanath

New Delhi, 25 October (H.S): On the inauguration of nine medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the task of keeping India before the world is being done not only as Ek Bharat and Shreshtha Bharat, but also as a healthy India and a capable India.

Chief Minister Yogi said that we all know that before 1947, there were 3 to 4 medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh. From 1947 to 2017, only 12 government medical colleges were built. But now 30 medical colleges are opening in Uttar Pradesh with the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He further said that nine medical colleges are starting today. The construction work of 14 other new medical colleges has started. MBBS studies in seven medical colleges have started from 2019. ICUs have been constructed in every district.

The Chief Minister said that youth would become good doctors after studying in these medical colleges and would be engaged in the service of the state. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government got free vaccines for all and free distribution of food grains to every person was also done.
