Former Pakistan captain Sana Mir infected with coronovirus
New Delhi, January 05 (HS). Former Pakistan women’s captain Sana Mir has been infected with the coronavirus. Sana, who was in the commentary panel of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final match, underwent a Covid-19 test three days before the match after showing symptoms. Sana’s reports came out positive.
Sana retired in April last year and ended her brilliant 15-year career. She participated in 226 international matches for Pakistan. She also captained the Pakistan team in 137 matches from 2009 to 2017.
Sana, who was instrumental in Pakistan’s bowling, topped the bowlers’ ODI women’s rankings in October 2018. She has taken 151 wickets in 120 ODIs. She is among the five women players who have scored 1,000 runs and took 100 wickets in ODIs.
She participated in three ICC Women’s Cricket World Cups (2009, 2013 and 2017) and six ICC Women’s T20 World Cups (2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018).
