Fire in Taj Express; all passengers are safe

New Delhi, 13 November (H.S): A fire broke out in the air-conditioned coach of the Taj Express that left New Delhi for Jhansi on Saturday morning. Fortunately, the fire was minor, which was brought under control in time. No casualties have been reported in the incident.

Northern Railway’s Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Deepak Kumar said that the train had left New Delhi station at 6.56 am and after getting information about smoke rising at 7.40 am, the train was sent for technical check between Nizamuddin and Palwal section of Asawati in Haryana.

He said the fire has been doused and all the passengers are safe. Actually it was more smoke than fire. After this, at 8.30, the train was sent for onward journey.
