The Bombay High Court will hear a legal battle over the legacy and film production rights of Azad Hind Fauj warrior Neera Arya on November 24. South Indian actress Roopa Iyer recently completed a film on Arya’s life, which is now facing legal challenges. Two years ago, Tejpal Singh Dhama and Bandhu Films filed a copyright case against Iyer in Delhi’s Karkarduma Court, which remains unresolved.

Meanwhile, Vishal Tyagi, producer at Matargashti Films, also filed a case in the Bombay High Court to stop Iyer’s film release. Tyagi, who acquired the copyright to Arya’s autobiography, is producing a large-scale film directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi. Tyagi’s legal team argues that Iyer’s film violates copyright laws, as she lacks official rights to portray Arya’s story on screen.

In addition, Alok, a family member of Arya residing in Mathura, has approached the Supreme Court, claiming these films damage his family’s reputation. The High Court will further address these issues in the upcoming hearing.
