FIITJEE, a leading coaching institute for competitive exams like JEE, faced a sudden crisis when several of its centres shut down unexpectedly. The closures occurred across Delhi-NCR, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh, leaving students and parents in shock. Parents and students expressed concern over the abrupt disruptions, which came amid an ongoing financial crisis at the institute. The sudden shutdown led to the resignation of faculty members at many centres, allegedly due to unpaid salaries.

In a statement issued on Saturday, FIITJEE clarified that it did not choose to close the centres. The institute said the turmoil was temporary and that efforts were underway to resume operations at all affected locations. It blamed managing partners for the financial issues, claiming that the abrupt desertion of centres by the managing partner and their team triggered the crisis.

FIITJEE accused a group of individuals with vested interests of orchestrating a conspiracy. The institute expressed confidence that a detailed investigation would soon uncover the truth behind the closures.

Despite the company’s reassurances, parents remained worried. Several centres, including those in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar, Noida’s Sector 62, and branches in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, were among those shut down. Parents filed at least two FIRs against FIITJEE in Noida and Ghaziabad, citing concerns over the lack of prior notice and communication regarding the closures.

In Noida, the police filed a cheating case against FIITJEE founder DK Goel, Sector 62 branch head Ramesh Batlesh, and others. The FIR was lodged after a complaint by Satsang Kumar, representing the parents’ association. The complaint accused FIITJEE of mishandling parents’ funds and closing the institute without informing them.

The parents were promised a bright future for their children, but the sudden shutdown left them in a difficult situation. The complaint highlighted the lack of communication and claimed that the accused manipulated the parents’ funds.

FIITJEE’s legal team is now responding to the charges, asserting that the criminal cases filed against the institute are malicious. The company stated that it would take appropriate action to defend itself against these claims. Despite the ongoing challenges, FIITJEE promised that its officials are working hard to resolve the situation and resume classes at the affected centres. For now, many students remain in limbo, unsure of their future with the coaching institute.
