FASTag must be imposed from December 1 on vehicle, otherwise, double tax will have to be paid
New Delhi, Nov 20 (HS): From December 1, the next month, if a vehicle is entering the “Fastag Fastaglane” without a Fastag on the National Highway toll plaza, it may have to pay double the toll tax. This means that if your car is not fastened, then from December 1, your difficulties may increase.
The Central Government is going to make the Fastag system mandatory in all the lanes on the toll plaza from next month to promote digital payments. At the same time, one lane (in each direction) will be in the form of the hybrid lane so that payment can be done by Fastag and other methods.
The Fastag Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag will be placed on the windscreen of the vehicle, which will be linked to the bank account or the payment wallet of the National Highways Authority of India. After applying it, if we take Fastag the car and go through the toll plaza then there is no need to stop. The cameras on the toll plaza will scan it and the amount will be automatically deducted from your account. However, for this, Fastag it is necessary that your Fastag is recharged. We can recharge Fastag like a mobile phone.

Fastags can be purchased from individual banks and 28,500 sales centers set up by the Indian Highway Management Company (IHMCL) or National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). This includes all toll plazas, RTOs, transport centers, bank branches selected petrol pumps etc. on the national highway.
At the same time, fast cars for car/jeep/ van, etc can be purchased online by visiting the website of Amazon and various member banks like SBI, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Paytm Payment Bank, HDFC Bank, IDFC First Bank, etc. Fastags are also available at 12,000 bank branches of some major private banks like ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank. If we talk about the benefits of Fastags, then the government is giving a cashback of up to 2.5%. Apart from this, the Fastags ensures the Fastagnonstop movement of vehicles to avoid road congestion. At the same time, your time is also saved.
Anyone who owns a four-wheeler can take the Fastag. For this, all you have to provide is a registration certificate of your vehicle, a passport size photo, address proof, original as well as a copy of your KYC document along with the vehicle at the POS (Point of Sale) / Sales Office.
However, the Fastag cannot be used for two-wheelers. Fastag cannot also be transferred to another vehicle. If you lose it, you will have to call the customer care number of the issuing agency to block your FASTag.
