Fake Godman poisoned 3 With Laddoos in Delhi car, promised wealth to trap victims
Delhi Police have uncovered a shocking case involving a self-styled godman who poisoned three people inside a car in west Delhi’s Peeragarhi area. The accused, Kamaruddin, lured his victims with promises of sudden wealth. He then fed them poison-laced laddoos during a fake ritual. As a result, all three lost their lives.
Police arrested Kamaruddin after a detailed investigation. During questioning, he admitted key details. He explained how he planned the crime. He also revealed how he gained the trust of the victims.
According to officers, Kamaruddin told the victims that a special ritual could change their fate. He claimed it would bring money and success. Therefore, the three agreed to take part. They believed his words. They followed his instructions.
First, he selected two men. Then, he told them that the ritual needed a woman with long hair. Later, he brought Laxmi Devi into the plan. She agreed to participate. She trusted his claims of divine power.
The victims included Laxmi Devi, 40, Randhir, 76, and Shiv Naresh Singh, 47. All three traveled with Kamaruddin in an old SUV. Police later found their bodies inside the vehicle.
During the ritual, Kamaruddin offered them laddoos. He said the sweets carried spiritual energy. He urged them to eat them for blessings. However, he had mixed sleeping pills and toxic substances into the sweets. Soon after eating them, the victims became unconscious.
Sources said Kamaruddin also played mind games. He tried to weaken their confidence. For example, he told Laxmi Devi that small cuts on her hand made her unfit for blessings. He said she would not receive money. Through such remarks, he created fear and dependence.
After the victims collapsed, Kamaruddin took their cash and valuables. Then, he left them inside the car. Police believe he planned the entire sequence in advance.
Kamaruddin, also known as Baba, comes from Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh. Investigators say he used similar tricks in the past. They now suspect his role in at least seven murder cases.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Sachin Sharma said officers followed both technical and ground-level leads. He said the team uncovered a planned conspiracy to kill and rob the victims. He added that the accused acted with clear intent.
Initially, the case appeared suspicious. Family members rejected any suicide theory. Therefore, police launched a deeper probe. They examined CCTV footage from nearby areas. They tracked mobile phone locations. They also studied call records.
This analysis revealed frequent contact between the victims and Kamaruddin. It showed that all three met him several times before their deaths. They also traveled to Loni in Ghaziabad a day before the incident. Then, they went there again on the final day.
Further, investigators found that Kamaruddin stayed with the victims during their return to Delhi. He sat in the same car. This detail strengthened the case against him.
Now, police are checking whether others helped him. They are questioning his contacts. They are also reviewing his financial records. Officers want to trace possible links to earlier crimes.
Meanwhile, senior officials have warned people against trusting fake spiritual figures. They urged citizens to stay alert. They advised families to report suspicious behavior quickly.
As the investigation continues, police plan to file a strong chargesheet. They aim to bring justice to the victims. The case has also raised serious concerns about blind faith and exploitation in the name of religion.
