Extended dates for refund of Railway tickets
Kolkata, 23 March (HS): In view of the suspension of the entire passenger railway services in the country since yesterday because of the threats of Corona virus and the subsequent locked down condition, both Eastern and South Eastern Railways here today announced that the facilities for refund of tickets had been extended up to 90 days from the date of journey for all cancelled trains up to 21 June.
Informing this Eastern Railway sources informed here today that for all cases the facility of getting Ticket Deposit Receipts from the Railway counters had been extended for up to 30 days from the date of journey and that for claiming refund against such TDR had been extended for upto 60 days, instead of one month, from the date of the proposed journey.
In view of this the passengers were requested not to rush to the Railway counters immediately and take time as per their conveniences in the wake of the extended dates for getting the refund, the sources informed further.
Meanwhile, services of the Kolkata Metro Railway have also come to a complete halt since this morning in view of the present lock down situation till 31 March.
