Lucknow, Nov 04 (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari has directed the concerned officials to ensure adequate arrangements for the upcoming winter. Keeping in view the cold waves, he directed to make sufficient arrangements of shelter homes (Rain Basera) for the homeless person so that none of the destitute people will be bound to sleep on the footpath or in the open. In order to distribute blankets to the poor people, he directed to ensure necessary timely actions for purchasing blankets.
Chief Secretary has issued this directive to the Additional Chief Secretaries and Principal Secretaries of Revenue, Urban Development, Environment, Agriculture and Public Welfare Department. He also said that all the District Magistrates, the City Commissioners and other concerned officers should ensure necessary arrangements timely. He also directed to initiate effective actions for the release of the fund to arrange campfire (Alaw) in all the districts soon.
To prevent air pollution during the winter, the Chief Secretary has directed to take actions against the persons burning garbage, polythene and particularly straw (Parali) in the field by the farmers. He said, “Burning Straw in the field results in massive air pollution therefore, the farmers should be encouraged and made aware of the consequences of burning straw in their fields. The officials should ensure to mix straw in the soil of the field in order to make it compost.”
Apart from this arrangements should be ensure to sprinkle water at the construction sites and also during the construction of roads so that spread of dust can be avoided. He also added that other sources generating pollution will also be liable for strict action.
