Encounter between Maoist and police in Jharkhand
Ranchi, May 31 (HS) According to the officials, the Maoist began firing during the search operation in the Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district. The bodyguard of Additional Superintendent of Police(ASP) of Chakradharpur Nathu Singh Meena, constable Lakhinder Singh Munda and a village chowkidar, Sunder Mahto lost their lives during the crossfire. A joint patrol of police and CRPF were interacting with the villagers of Porahat forest when a few Maoists who were hiding in the hut nearby, suddenly started firing. The patrol was led by ASP-Operation Paranab Anand Jha and Nathu Singh Meena. Both, Lakhendra Munda and Sunder Mahto were rushed to Chakardharpur hospital where doctors declared them brought dead. A medical board has been set up for their post mortem. An official announcement is yet to be made about the entire incident.
