Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court took note of the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) first supplementary charge sheet in the land-for-job case on Tuesday. Special Judge Vishal Gogne summoned all seven accused, including former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, to appear in court on October 7.

The court summoned Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav, Akhileshwar Singh, Kiran Devi, Hazari Prasad Rai, Sanjay Rai, and Dharmendra Singh. Previously, the court had reserved its decision on August 17.

The ED filed the first supplementary charge sheet on August 6, accusing 11 individuals. In addition, 96 documents were presented as evidence. During the July 6 hearing, the ED’s Joint Director emphasized the sensitivity of the matter and assured the court that the chargesheet would be filed on time.

Notably, on March 7, the court granted regular bail to Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti, Heema Yadav, and Hridayananda Chaudhary in the ED case. The court acknowledged the ED chargesheet on January 27, following the ED’s filing of the first chargesheet on January 9. ED also arrested Amit Katyal in connection with the case.

The CBI initially registered the case before the ED’s involvement. In the CBI case, the court granted bail to former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, Lalu Prasad Yadav, and Rabri Devi on October 4, 2023. The court took note of the CBI’s second chargesheet on September 22, 2023.

The CBI had filed a supplementary chargesheet on July 3, 2023, and the court acknowledged this on February 27, 2023. Earlier, on October 7, 2022, the CBI filed a chargesheet against 16 individuals, including Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Misa Bharti, in the Land for Jobs case.
