Dry Day in Jharkhand borders near West Bengal for upcoming WB polls

Ranchi, 25 MARCH 2021 (HS):Dry Day has been declared in the border districts to conduct the upcoming West Bengal Assembly Elections 2021 in a free and fair manner. Directives have been given by the Election Commission of India in this regard. In the light of Section 135 (c) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, 48 hours before the end of polling, till the end of polling and instructions have been given to declare a dry day on the day of counting.

During the election of West Bengal assembly elections, the retail produce shops and other establishments of Ranchi Municipal Corporation and Bundu Nagar Panchayat will remain open. According to the departmental instructions received earlier, a dry day was ordered by the district administration in the entire district.

The Municipal Corporation / Nagar Parishad / Nagar Panchayat and rural area retail produce shops and other establishments directly connected to the West Bengal border will remain closed from 48 hours before the end of polling.
