Karimnagar Municipal Corporation has started using ‘Marut’ drones to spray disinfectants during the night times. Thus it is now emulating countries like China, South Korea and Italy which are also using drones to combat the pandemic. The government authorities also have a reason to choose the night time for spraying disinfectants.
It may be recalled that a 23-year-old positive person guided the Indonesian preachers in Karimnagar town. The youngster recently started developing COVID-19 symptoms including cold, cough and fever and was admitted to Government hospital.Alerted about the development, the district administration has decided to quarantine the surrounding area of mosque, where Indonesian preachers stayed for 48 hours between March 14 and 15. According to the authorities the situation is alarming.
If the local reports are to be believed the Indonesian preachers belong to the Tablighi Jamaat, which means the Society for Spreading Faith that originated from Mewat in Haryana in 1926.The Indonesian preachers had come to India, particularly Telangana, to teach Muslims of the mosque they had chosen in the town. As part of the Tablighi objective, they planned to teach the Muslims about Quran and practising their religion as it was done during the Prophet’s time. The mosque, where these preachers go to teach, is picked by a draw of lots.
They stayed at the Karimnagar mosque and cooked their own food. This mosque now stands quarantined and authorities are now scouting for those who interacted with them .
Karimnagar is now on the edge with locals staying indoors fearing the worst with many suspects still awaiting their reports from National institute of Virology Pune to be declared hopefully negative.
