Telangana:Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police commissioner Mr Sajjanar has directed all media houses operating in the city to restrain from publicly disclosing the identity and other credentials of rape victim of Shamshabad.These orders are issued to safeguard the anonymity/ confidentialy and protect the rights of the victim’s family.

The continuous telecast of gruesome details of the incident has generated fear among common people, especially women and their parents.. He requested the media houses to act with responsibility and come to together with law enforcement agencies to infuse confidence among people to convey that, we are all with them.

Cyberabad commissionerate pleaded with media houses not to publish, the name and details of the victim as per Supreme Court orders, that resulted in problems to the family in many ways..
Commissioner expressed his displeasure that in the wake of gruesome gang-rape incident reported in the city, many scaremongering what’s app messages, video are being circulated on social media. This has infused immense fear among many women and parents.
In the interest of public, police officials request citizens not to resort to such practise and a sincere request to the media fraternity to refrain from telecasting/ publishing content which may further spread fear.
: Old inconsequential information, photos, videos are being deliberately circulated by unscrupulous persons to scare the public.
Defying the court orders, is act of being irresponsible h can invite legal problems he stated.

Lastly, he pleaded to telecast awareness related messages, in emergency which numbers a person can dial for help thus fulfilling your social and moral responsibility and helping people in times of dire need.
Cyberabad police is requesting the media to not to use the victims name. Instead of it use # Justice for Disha..
