District police conduct awareness programme on drugs
West Siang Police Observed International Day against Drug and Illicit Trafficking
Itanagar, 26 June (HS): Arunachal Pradesh West Siang District Police observed International Day against Drug and Illicit Trafficking by conducting speech competition among the students of Higher and Secondary schools and involving parents and teachers at Gumin Kiin today.
Highlighting the objective behind celebrating the day, the West Siang Superintendent of Police Jummar Basar said that drug menace is one of the major problems society is facing today as it not only derail the youths but shatters the very fabric of the society.
The programme involving people of all walks of is a part of awareness and exhorted participation of more youths in such awareness Camops to be conducted in a more intensified manner in future. Sending his specific warning, he said that police will not remain a mute spectator to growing abuses and all youths loitering here and there and endangering other’s life by creating nuisances will not be spared.
The DMO Aalo, Dr. Moli Riba stressed on proper study of the behavioural attitude of the children by the parents to control them in the initial stage. Former. Minister, Kento Ete President ATWDS, Eto Ete DDSE Aalo, Marbom Riba Bagra President APWWS Aalo Unit, Inspector O. Pertin and Tashi Yangi dwelt at length on drug menace and its impact on society and stressed on such awareness programme in a lager manner to save succeeding generatuion from scourage of drug.
The Chairman Mothers Vision Jumde Yomgam Gamlin and Shri Kennedy Bagra, who is giving counseling to drug addicts at Drug Rehabilitation Centre Aalo highlighted in detail on problems of drugs, its trafficking and ways and means to check it. The Deputy SP Sangey Thinley expressed his gratitude for mass participation to make the event a successful one. Prizes were given away to all winners on the occasion
