Diljit Dosanjh dedicates Guwahati concert to Manmohan Singh, talks resilience
Singer Diljit Dosanjh dedicated his Guwahati concert to the late former Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh. On Sunday, Diljit posted a video on Instagram after his Dil-Luminati show, where he praised Singh’s simplicity and resilience.
In the video, Diljit reflected on the late PM’s life, admiring his ability to remain calm despite criticism. “He led a simple life. Even when others spoke ill of him, he never responded,” Diljit said. “This is the hardest thing to do in politics.”
Diljit also shared a quote from Manmohan Singh: “Hazaron jawab o se meri khamoshi acchi, najane kitne sawalon ki aabrun rakhe.” The quote loosely translates to, “My silence is better than a thousand answers, saving the grace of many questions.”
The singer emphasized that the youth should learn from Singh’s approach. “We should stay focused on our goals, even when others speak badly about us,” Diljit added. “Those who criticize us are also divine tests. How we react defines us.”
Diljit dedicated the concert to Manmohan Singh, writing in his post, “Today’s Concert is dedicated to Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji. DIL-LUMINATI TOUR Year 24.”
Manmohan Singh, who passed away at 92 after a prolonged illness on Thursday, had a remarkable political career. He served as India’s Finance Minister from 1991 to 1996 and was the 13th Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014.
