Demonstration continues against Citizenship Amendment Act
New Delhi,Dec 19 (HS):Demonstrations are continuing across the country against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Today once again protests will continue in many parts of the country, Left parties have called for a Bharat Bandh today. In view of the demonstration, Section 144 has been imposed in many parts of the country. Large demonstrations are expected in many parts of the country.
Section 144 has been imposed in the Red Fort area of Delhi. During this time no more than four people can stay out together. In view of the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act in Delhi, many metro stations have been closed. Entry-exit has been stopped at these stations.
Delhi Police has closed three metro stations and Kalindi Kunj road in view of the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Traffic on Jamia Millia Islamia, Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh, Munirka, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk and University Metro Station has been closed. Apart from this, the road from Mathura Road to Kalindi Kunj has also been closed. Entry & exit gates of Lal Quila, Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk and Vishwavidyalaya are closed. Trains will not be halting at these stations.
There is a possibility of a big protest in Bengaluru today against the Citizenship Amendment Act . Karnataka CM B.S. Yeddyurappa has a meeting with senior officials. Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa has held a meeting with senior police officers including Bangalore City Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao today and instructed them to take all measures to avoid any untoward incident, in the view of protests against #CitizenshipAct and NRC .
Commissioner of Police,Hyderabad tweeted , No outdoor permission has been given for any rally or procession against Citizenship Amendment Act or in favour of Citizenship Amendment Act. During the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act in Darbhanga, Bihar, the Left parties stopped the train.
