Delhi weather alert: Thunderstorms & rain expected, IMD predicts 18°C low

Delhi will likely receive thunderstorms with rain on Thursday, February 27, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The minimum temperature is expected to settle at 18°C, while the maximum could reach 26°C. At 9 AM, the city recorded 21.2°C.

Air quality remained poor, with an AQI of 260, according to the Sameer app. The approaching Western Disturbance will bring rainfall to North India, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Haryana, between February 27 and March 1.

IMD reported no significant temperature changes across most parts of India except Northwest regions, which may see fluctuations over the next four to five days. Delhi’s wind speed is expected to pick up after the morning hours.

On Wednesday, Delhi recorded 32°C, the highest of the season, six degrees above the seasonal average. This matches the maximum temperature recorded on February 27, 2023. Last year, the highest February temperature was 29.7°C.

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reported an AQI of 247 on Wednesday, keeping air quality in the ‘poor’ category. IMD predicts another thunderstorm with rain on Friday, with a slight dip in the minimum temperature by one degree.
