Delhi’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials reached Arvind Kejriwal’s residence after Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena ordered a probe into his poaching allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
On Thursday, Kejriwal claimed the BJP tried to lure 16 AAP candidates with offers of ₹15 crore and ministerial positions. Senior party leaders, including Sanjay Singh, backed his allegations.
The probe escalated tensions between AAP and BJP. AAP’s legal cell president Sanjeev Nasiar questioned the ACB’s authority. He alleged a political conspiracy, accusing the BJP of staging a drama. “They lack authorization and proper documents. This is BJP’s attempt to create chaos,” he said.
BJP hit back, calling Kejriwal’s claims baseless. Delhi BJP general secretary Vishnu Mittal filed a complaint, asserting AAP’s allegations aimed to tarnish the party’s image and spread panic. BJP leaders demanded evidence, warning of legal action if AAP failed to prove its claims.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva accused AAP leaders of losing their “mental balance.” He reminded that Kejriwal had previously apologized to BJP leaders and warned that legal consequences would follow if AAP did not produce evidence.
This latest clash adds to the ongoing political battle in Delhi, intensifying hostilities between the two parties.
