AAP leader Atishi resigned as Delhi’s chief minister on Sunday, clearing the path for BJP’s return to power after 27 years. The party has yet to name its chief ministerial candidate. A senior BJP leader confirmed that the oath-taking ceremony will happen after Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns from his US visit on February 14 or 15.

A day after BJP’s decisive victory, its winning candidates held thanksgiving rallies across their constituencies. They distributed sweets, cut cakes, and thanked voters for their support.

BJP secured 48 out of 70 seats in Saturday’s elections, while AAP managed 22. Congress failed to win a single seat for the third consecutive time.
