Delhi court allows Shashi Tharoor to travel abroad

New Delhi, Feb 22 (HS): Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court has given permission to Congress leader Shashi Tharoor to go abroad, accused in the Sunanda Pushkar death case.

Shashi Tharoor has sought permission to visit UAE, Paris, and Norway. Tharoor had sought permission to travel abroad from February to May. Earlier, the court had allowed Shashi Tharoor to go abroad nine times.

The court gave permission to visit Dubai from 14 November 2019 to 18 November 2019. Before that on October 11, 2019, the court also asked permission for Shashi Tharoor to travel to five countries. On July 26, the court also allowed Shashi Tharoor to go abroad. The court had allowed to go abroad from 5 August to 2 October.

The charge sheet was filed by the Delhi Police on 14 May 2018. In the charge sheet, Sunanda Pushkar’s husband and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has been charged. Shashi Tharoor has been charged under sections 498A and 306 of the Indian Penal Code.

The charge sheet states that Sunanda Pushkar died in 3 years, 3 months and 15 days of marriage to Shashi Tharoor. Both were married on 22 August 2010.
