Delhi CM Rekha Gupta fires back at Atishi’s ‘Broken Promise’ claim

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta hit back at ex-CM Atishi on Friday after she accused BJP of breaking election promises. Gupta defended her government, stating that Congress ruled for 15 years and AAP for 13, yet they now question BJP’s first day in office.
She highlighted that her cabinet acted immediately by clearing the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which AAP had blocked. “We provided Rs. 10 lakh benefit to Delhiites on day one,” she said. Gupta dismissed AAP’s criticism, asserting that Delhi will now receive its due under PM Modi’s leadership. She also warned that the upcoming CAG report could expose corruption within AAP.
Atishi, in a video, accused BJP of failing to fulfill its promise of giving Rs. 2,500 to women in its first cabinet meeting. “Women expected the scheme to pass, but BJP broke its promise on day one,” she said, alleging that BJP had decided to deceive Delhi’s people.
Gupta, who won from Shalimar Bagh, took oath as Delhi’s fourth woman CM on Thursday. She will oversee key portfolios, including Finance, Revenue, Women and Child Development, and Administrative Reforms. The political battle over election promises continues to intensify.
