Delhi: 450 flights delayed, 21 diverted, 40 train cancel, 34 trains late..
New Delhi, Dec 31(HS):The Entire North India including Delhi is shivering with the cold. Cold wave continues to wreak havoc. In Delhi, the minimum mercury was recorded at 4 degrees Celsius, which can reach a maximum of 13 degrees. The bad weather has affected air flights and trains. So far, 40 flights have been canceled and 21 diverted, while 450 flights are delayed. At the same time, 34 trains are running late.
The Meteorological Department has issued a cold and rain alert for 16 districts of Haryana. Visibility will be from 0 to 50 meters. At the same time, there is a red alert for the cold in 18 districts of Punjab.
Private airlines such as IndiGo and Vistara issued a travel advisory for their passengers, stating that many aircraft flying from the national capital have been affected due to bad weather and low visibility.
Over the past few days, many aircraft are flying late due to low visibility and dense fog. IndiGo said in its tweet, ” Due to low visibility in Delhi, our flights have been affected. Keep track of the status of your flights.”
Vistara said, ” Due to dense fog in Delhi, the arrival/departure from Delhi is delayed, due to which the entire network is being affected.”
At the same time, airlines SpiceJet also told their passengers that they keep tracking their flight status to and from Delhi. The airline tweeted, ” Due to inclement weather in Delhi all arrivals/departures and subsequent flights have been affected. Passengers are requested to keep track of their flight status.”
At the same time, due to dense fog, about 34 trains coming towards Delhi have been delayed by one to seven hours from the scheduled time. Major trains, such as the Mahabodhi Express (Gaya-New Delhi Express) are running 10 hours behind schedule. The Kranti Express is running five hours late than its scheduled time and the Nanda Devi Express is also running late by about four hours.
