“Deal with terror like US did after 9/11 attacks”: Bipin Rawat .
New Delhi, Jan 16 (HS): Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat on Thursday hit out at Pakistan and wooed the international community to isolate the nations who were sponsoring terrorism. Without naming Pak directly, Rawat asserted that there was a need for continuous war against terrorism and it was needed to take the bull by its horns. “We need to take the bull by its horns. If we have to end terrorism it can only happen the way Americans started after 9/11,” said Gen. Rawat adding, “As long as there are states which sponsor terrorism, we will have to live with the menace.”
During an address at Raisina Dialogue 2020, Rawat asserted that diplomatic isolation and blacklisting by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) could be good measures to deal with terror.
He said that some states were funding terrorism and using terrorists as proxies. He further said that the war on terror was not ending and it was something which was going to continue. “We will have to live with it until we understand and get to the roots of terrorism,” the Gen. said.
