New Delhi, May 30 (HS): Cricket West Indies (CWI) has approved their team to play Test series in England.
The West Indies were scheduled to tour England for a series of three Test matches in June, but the tour was postponed due to the growing outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is now looking forward to hosting the series in July.
“The CWI has reviewed detailed plans to keep players and staff in a Bio Secure environment for the duration of the tour, with all matches to be held behind closed doors,” the CWI said in a statement.
Cricket West Indies said in a statement that it would seek permission from Caribbean national governments to facilitate the movement of players and support staff.
They said they would use private charter planes and conduct medical screenings and coronavirus tests of all members on tour.
The CWI said that they would continue their good arrangements with the England and Wales Cricket Board, and they are awaiting the UK government’s decision for final approval of their plans.
After football, various cricket boards are trying their best to bring cricket competitions back on track.
