COVID Update: Hike in new cases, over 2000 new cases in 24 hours
New Delhi, 18 April (H.S)| With a sudden increase in the new COVID-19 cases. 2,183 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours till Monday 7am, whereas 1,985 patients recovered, taking the tally of recovered patients to over 4.25 crore in the country, since the beginning of the pandemic.
Total number of active COVID-19 patients in the country is 11,542, this comprises approximatley 0.03% of the total cases registered since the beginning of the pandemic.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, more than 2.61 lakh tests were conducted in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tests conducted, since the beginning of the pandemic, to over 83.21 crore.
India’s Recovery Rate has been consistent for a few days and stands at 98.76%. Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 0.32% and the Daily Positivity rate registered a hike, currently stands at 0.83%.
