Corona: 40,000 tested and none infected so far says Health Minister B Sriramulu
Bengaluru,03 March(HS): About 40,000 people visiting the city from foreign countries have been examined so far and on verification, none of them have been found to have been infected with the deadly Coronavirus, informed B Sriramulu, state Health Minister here today.
Addressing a media conference at Vidhana Soudha, the headquarters of the state government, B Sriramulu disclosed that Isolation wards have been set up in all state government hospitals across the state reserving 630 beds for probable Coronavirus patients.
He also allayed fears about the Coronavirus scare among the public and claimed that the state health department is geared up to take proper care of such patients 24×7.
The health minister also clarified: Since the IT professional hailing from Telangana and returning from abroad via Bengaluru has been confirmed with Coronavirus infection, his colleagues in the company he had been working here, his roommates, and all those residing in the apartments block he lived in are subjected to a thorough health examination.
