Constitution should be introduces in Kendriya Vidyalaya courses
New Delhi, Jan 17 (HS): A petition was heard in the Supreme Court on Friday in which an appeal was made that a Kendriya Vidyalaya should be opened in every tehsil of all the States in the country. The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Central Government on this matter and asked to resolve the issue in three months.
In addition to the opening of the Kendriya Vidyalaya, it was also appealed that the Indian Constitution should be taught in the curriculum of government schools.
The lawyer informed the court that a presentation in this regard has also been given to the Ministry of Education. Justice N.V. Ramanna while hearing the matter said that this was a policy issue, in which the court could not directly give any order.
Significantly, there are about 1500 central schools in the country, which provide primary and secondary education. The Kendriya Vidyalaya primarily educates children of central employees, but any other student can take admission in it through a test.
